I started in design by creating logos, packaging, marketing material and websites for various small businesses I started (furniture building, tea importing, web design). What I realized is that I was better at designing an experience than running a business. So, I decided to switch to only designing and leaving it to others to keep the lights on.

When I discovered UX Design I found what I'd been looking for: a career that blended design and technology with human interaction and behavior. This mix suits me well. It allows me to be creative and also talk to people about how to improve their experiences with tech.

Once I figured out that UX was my jam, I completed Google's 7 course UX training through Coursera and Nielsen Norman Groups UX 5 class certification. This gave me a good base of knowledge for my first job in UX with a design company called LavaVein. I've been with them since May 2022 and I've had the opportunity work on seven projects including three web apps I designed end-to-end. Also during that time I've been able to learn from the company's founders, who have decades of experience in the field.
